Scottish Wildlife Paintings Otter, Red Deer, Pheasants and Duck in Watercolour
Except
for the deer, Scottish wildlife is much smaller than the big
game Mike was used to in Africa. In studying these smaller creatures
he became fascinated by different types of pheasants, often
pursuing wild hybrids resulting from the many exotics that have
escaped captivity over the years.

Mike's
paintings of Scottish Wildlife have a lightness and sensitivity
which is only possible with watercolour. However, he frequently
adds a little pencil, pastel or acrylic to add new dimensions to
his art.
