Mike Elliott
is an artist very popular in South Africa. He is particularly
well known for his fine art depicting the Bushmen and African
Wildlife, watercolor paintings and drawings which have been
regularly published.
These African roots remain very strong, even with his move
to Scotland in 2000. A strong attachment to the environment
and lessons in observation, learned in the southern African
bush, have resulted in superb Scottish wildlife artwork, with
a special leaning towards the hawks, eagles & other birds
New influences around the Tay river, in Scotland, and increased
access to emerging technology has resulted in many new experiments.
The result is a kaleidoscope of diverse subjects in a variety
of media, including Watercolor, Acrylic, Pastel, Pencil and
his new Oil Painting. Different media but all retaining his
distinctive qualities.
Access to rapidly developing Digital Art applications has
encouraged this artist to launch into further pursuits
Recently commissioned
to work on some Australian Wildlife. The Eastern Rosella above
is the First painting in Watercolor.
